Voter Opinions on the Norfolk Southern Train Derailment

Future Majority recently conducted a statewide voter survey in the critical state of Ohio to examine a wide range of issues, including voter opinions toward the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine. The survey was conducted by Change Research from February 24 – February 28, 2023 (n=1,834).

Voters overwhelmingly agree that environmental standards should be raised to prevent future disasters. While voters are generally disappointed with nearly all parties involved in the disaster response, about 8 in 10 voters disapprove of Norfolk Southern, the train company, and its handling of the crisis.
